Our Mission
At Roseville Parent Education Preschool (RPEP), we are dedicated to educating and empowering parents while fostering child-led, play-based learning. Through hands-on participation, parents gain valuable insight into child development, while children thrive in a safe, nurturing environment that encourages outdoor exploration, healthy risk-taking, emotional regulation, and independence. By learning together through play, families strengthen relationships, and our community flourishes through shared support and engagement.
In 1977, RPEP was established with a vision to create an environment that prioritizes children’s natural curiosity and exploration. Fast forward to 2012, RPEP found its unique home—a special campus featuring two houses and three distinct playgrounds dedicated to one class at a time.
This rare approach means children have the freedom to explore the entire facility without the constraints of scheduled rotations, allowing their natural curiosity to guide their learning journey. The result is a flexible, child-centered space where exploration, creativity, and discovery flourish.
The main house features a monthly-changing dramatic play room, a cozy literacy space with puzzles and a parent library, and a vibrant circle time area complete with a climbing structure, building materials, and musical instruments. The second house invites sensory exploration with rotating sensory tables, small parts play, and weekly art activities.
Three thoughtfully designed playgrounds complement the indoor spaces. Children can ride bikes and cars on winding paths, play in sand and water areas, explore climbing structures and playhouses, or embark on adventures at the zipline and fairy garden. There’s even a dig zone with a child-sized excavator and educational gardens.
This flexible environment, lovingly cultivated over the years, allows teachers to follow children's interests and extend learning opportunities naturally, creating a truly child-centered space where curiosity and discovery flourish.
